Massage Therapy is an effective approach to pain management and rehabilitation. It can provide pain and stress relief, detoxification and relaxation. It is an excellent rejuvenation and rehabilitation experience for the mind, body and soul.

Within a clinic that emits a warm and soothing ambiance, I provide massage therapy modalities that include the following:

Active Release Techniques (ART®)

ART® is a movement-based, manual technique for treating an assortment of conditions related to soft tissue (muscle, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves). See the Active Release Techniques page on this site for more detailed information about this modality.

Deep Tissue Release

This style is designed to effectively relieve stress, pains, cramps and tension. It focuses on treating the deeper layers of tissue.

Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Massage

Swedish massage techniques are modified to address biomechanical changes and tension in the mother’s body during pregnancy. Adjustments to the techniques and positioning are utilized to ensure patient comfort while limiting any pressure on the fetus. In the weeks following labour, the approach is altered once again. The focus shifts to address pain/tension issues brought on by labour and related to caring for a newborn child.

Sports Massage

Massage techniques applied in varying depths and speeds, used for warming tissues before an event and assist in the cool-down following events to prevent delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

Swedish Relaxation Massage

A style of massage designed to ease stress from the body, reduce muscular tension and enhancing circulation by the use of slowly applied, patterned techniques.

Trigger Point Release

A variety of techniques that focus on releasing knotted bands of muscle fibers formed when muscles are placed in constant states of tension or stress.

Aquatic Therapy (AquaneticsTM)

The union of aquatic exercise and physical therapy in a pool setting. It is a comprehensive, effective therapeutic approach that uses aquatic exercises designed to aid in the rehabilitation of various conditions.

In addition to the above techniques, aromatherapy and hydrotherapy may be incorporated to encourage deeper relaxation and facilitate a more effective tissue response.
